Jesus Time: We watched a video on the Poor Widow that gave all of her money to God. Then students drew a picture of what they would give to God. Commons Area: Students were balancing on a beam and chasing after friends. Center 1: Students had to share a book with friends, the caught was all friends had to see the pictures. Ask your child how they solved this problem? Center 2: Students wrote the letter A and the Alphabet in shaving cream. Free Choice Time: This is when students choose where they would want to explore. Workout Video: Students followed a workout video to burn off some energy!

Gymnastics: This whole week, students did Gymnastics in the Commons Area. They really enjoy doing this. Center 1: I was assessing students on comparing and measuring with objects. Center 2: Students wrote their letters in cinnamon sugar. Center 3: Students worked Independently in Block Area. Art: Students painted like a chef with noodles.
Objective: Explores different art tools. Science Experiment: Students are watching to see what happens to the strawberry and bread when you leave them out of the fridge. Jesus Time: Students acted out the Bible Story about the widow giving all of her money to the LORD. Objective: Learns how it is important to tell others about Jesus and His love. Grows in his or her ability to show Jesus/ God's love to playmates. Outside Time: We finally went outside! Students played on the snow and ice. Ask your child what was outside? If they don't remember- it was something with wings and other thing had wheels and a crane. Objective: Demonstrates Traveling Skills and Gross Motor Skills. Center 1: I assessed students on comparing and measuring objects. Objective: Compares and Measures. Center 2: Students wrote their letters in Cinnamon Sugar. The letter this week is A. When you and your child are driving home, try to find objects that start with A. Objective: Demonstrates knowledge of the Alphabet. Center 3: Students were in block area. Objective: Engages in Sociodramatic Play. Art Time: Students painted like a chef with spaghetti noodles. Objective: Explores various art tools. Free Choice: Students could explore anything in the room. Most of the friends were in the restaurant. So I decided to be a customer. There was a Manager, Waitress, Bus Boy, and Chef. Objective: Participates cooperatively and constructively in group situation. Students made Name Tags so they could be workers in the restaurant. Some friends were making a map to find treasure! Gym Time: Students chased their friends during this time.
Objective: Demonstrates traveling skills. This Morning, some friends found all of the rhyming words to a game. At home, start working on words that rhyme. For example, "What rhymes with Cat?" and they would say, "HAT." It would be a great game to play in the car. Show and Share: Grayson gave some awesome clues to his friends! Ask your child what he brought. Objective: Teaching Strategies Gold- 1) Uses Language to express thoughts and needs. Speaks clearly. 2) Uses appropriate conversational and other communication skills. Free Choice Time: Students could explore anything in the room. Ask your child where they explored. Objective: Participates cooperatively and constructively in group situations. Center 1: Students were to cut and paste a pattern with cooking items. Objective: Demonstrates pattern knowledge. Center 2: Students worked together to build a structure with Candy pieces. Objective: Working together and participating. Center 3: Students were asked, "What do you know about Restaurants?" Mrs. Koenig put their answers on the web. Objective: Uses Conventional Language. Music Time: Students had a dance party.
Objective: Uses body movements to dramatize music. Common Areas: Students played with funny animals and balls. Objective: Demonstrates traveling skills and gross motor manipulative. Center 1: Students worked together to build a swing. There were instructions that showed them what to do. Objective: Solves Social Problems and works together. Center 2: Students helped me make a web of what we know ,so far, about Restaurants. Objective: Uses language to express thoughts and needs- Uses conventional grammar. Center 3: Students worked on making patterns with cooking utensils. Objective: Demonstrates knowledge of a pattern. Free Choice: Before Free Choice, we discussed different jobs that are in restaurants. We spoke about Managers, Waitresses/ Waiters, Bus Boys, Dishwashers, Hostesses, Chefs, and more. They are having a blast exploring and learning more about restaurants. Objective: Participates cooperatively and constructively in a group situation. Gym Time: Students played with balls in the gym.
Objective: Demonstrates traveling skills and gross motor manipulative. Show and Share: Kaleb had some really great clues!!! Ask your child what he brought :) Commons Area: It was too cold to go outside, so we played in the Commons Area. Free Choice: Students played in the restaurant, in the block area, and created art. We also had the Hermit Crabs out. Music: DANCE PARTY!!!! Center 1: Students wrote the letter K and R in Cinnamon Sugar.
Center 2: Students wrote the title of the Little Red Hen. - They were sounding out the letters to the words. Center 3: Students worked as a team to build something out of the candy shapes. Science Experiment: Students had to come up with a hypothesis to this question. "What do you think will happen to the cream if we shake it for 20 minutes?" Here is your hint...students ate it for snack. :) Objective: Solves problems involving physical properties of objects and materials. Makes predications based on experiences with objects and materials. (Missouri Early Learning Guidelines). Morning Meeting: The class came up with food ideas for their menus. Objective: Writes to convey Meaning Outside Time: It was too cold for the students to play outside. So we played in the Commons Area. Objective: Demonstrates Traveling Skills. Show and Share: Allie gave three hard clues for her friends this morning. Her friends were all stumped. Objective: Teaching Strategies Gold- 1) Uses Language to express thoughts and needs. Speaks clearly. 2) Uses appropriate conversational and other communication skills. Uses social rules to language. 3) Demonstrates positive approaches to learning. Attends and engages. Persists. 4) Demonstrates positive approaches to learning. Solves problems. Students ate their science experiment with bread. :) Free Choice Time: We had a customer come to our restaurant. Students gave her menus, money, food, and a drink. They love to serve! Other students drove trains, painted, explored in the science area, and more. Objective: Participates cooperatively in a group situation. Art: Students made a collage out of foods that they like. Objective: Uses his or her creativity to make a composition. Center 1: I had students building together in the Block Area.
