It was so nice outside! Students had a lot of fun running with their friends. Chapel in the Commons Area. The message was about God going wherever we go. He will never leave us. Snack Time: We ate a frozen treat. We were exploring other preschool classrooms and walked by the Kindergarten rooms for some of our friends next year. Outside Time: Students played on the big playground. Morning Meeting and Center Time: Students watched a movie called Franklin and the Tooth Fairy. Students learned that turtles do not have teeth and it is alright to be different from your friends. Last class picture of our Wednesday Friends. I love all of you so much! Morning Meeting and Center Time: Students watched a movie called Franklin Rides a Bike. Students learned that if you can't do something the first time keep trying because practice makes perfect. After the movie, students drew/painted a picture of a clip in the movie. Free Choice: Students were all over the room exploring with their friends. Outside Time: Students and Miss Kirby were excited that it stopped raining. We love being outside!
Morning Meeting: Students listened to a read aloud book called NO DAVID! by David Shannon. Outside Time- It was such a beautiful day. Center 1: Students played Simon Says. This works with their Listening Skills. Center 2: Students played Bingo. They used tweezer to pick up the beads and place them on the right letter or number. Center 3: Students worked together in Block Area. Free Choice Time: We went outside and enjoyed the beautiful day by making airplanes.
Jesus Time: We practiced our bible verse and then colored about our story. Outside Time: Try to find your child :) Center 1: Students were to make a book about school. Teaching Strategies Gold: Demonstrates emergent writing sills.- Writes to convey meaning. Center 2: Students discovered symmetry with paints. Missouri Pre-K Mathematics Standards: Geometry- Investigates positions and locations. Center 3: Students played with friends in Dramatic Play. Teaching Strategies Gold: Uses symbols and images to represents something not present- Engages in sociodramatic play. Art: We studied the self portrait of The Desperate Man by Gustave Courbet. This morning, students worked together to build a long road with the cubes. They had some great ideas and amazing collaboration with their peers. Science Experiment: Students were to come up with a hypothesis about what would happen to the balloon if we put it on your friends head/hair. Then after the experiment we made a discovery. Students ran outside just before the rain started. Center 1: Students were to make a book about school. Center 1: I read this book that is shown below. Students then wanted to draw a map with landmarks. Missouri Pre-K Science Standards: Physical Science- Explores physical properties of objects and materials. *Develops an understanding of spatial perspectives, and examine changes in the relationship between peoples, places, and environment. (National Curriculum Standard for Social Studies). Center 2: Students made their own pattern with markers and crayons. Teaching Strategies Gold: Demonstrates knowledge of patterns. Center 3: Students were to build something independently. Free Choice: Students could explore, make, or build anything they wanted too. Zion Early Learning Guidelines: Participates cooperatively and constructively in group situations. Music Time: Students were to find 6 rocks and put them in their egg. After they filled their egg, we went back inside and had a dance party with our homemade shakers.

Jesus Time: We read our bible verse and then drew our fears on paper. After writing our fears down, we cut them up and threw them away because God takes our fears away! Such a beautiful day to play outside! Center 1: Students played independently in Dramatic Play Center 2: We read an animal book and then drew our favorite animal. After drawing the animal, students had to sound out the word and write it out. Center 3: Students worked together to build something out of play dough. Free Choice: Students exploded different areas of interest at this time. Outside Time: Students found a baby bird! They loved watching and talking to it.
Jesus Time: Today, we had chapel with the WHOLE school. It was so much fun to worship together. Science Experiment: This morning, we mixed green food coloring, baking soda, and vinegar in a plastic bag and we closed it up. Students had to come up with a Hypothesis to our question,"What do you think will happen to the bag when I put vinegar and baking soda together?" Allie- Um it will pop Cooper- It will pop. Brylie- It will pop Adelaide- It will turn into a butterfly to make it a flower Makena- It will explode Kaleb- It will bubble Reese- I think the colors will mix together and then spread apart and then the colors and then the colors will go together and make a ball. Juliet- It will turn into a ice cube Olivia- I think it will turn into a princess bag Grayson- Um it will turn into a octopus. Zoey- The bag will disappear Ayla- Um it will change to different colors Discovery: The bag got big and it was puffy. The bag got cold. It filled up with air. It turned bubbly. It got squishy. It got fizzy. It turned green. Missouri Pre-K Science Standards: Explores physical properties of objects and materials. Commons Area: This morning, students played inside games because it was too rainy. Zion Early Learning Guidelines: Demonstrates Traveling Skills. Center 1: Students went on a number hunt with Mrs. Cruz. Zion Early Learning Guidelines: Connects numerals with their quantities. Center 2: Students listened to a Read Along Book called Never Talk to Strangers. After listening to the book, I asked the question," What do you do when a stranger talks to you?" Teaching Strategies Gold: Uses language to express thoughts and needs- conventional grammar. Center 3: Students worked together in Block Area. Zion Early Learning Guidelines: Participates cooperatively and constructively in group situations. - Balances needs and rights of self and others. Art: Students blew bubbles with a straw. After making bubbles, students put a paper on top of the bubbles and made a cool design. Zion Early Learning Guidelines: Follows step by step instructions in order to complete an art project.
