This morning, we watched the letter X video. After that, we weNT on a letter hunt for the letter X!!! Students loved playing on the BIG playground. Center 1: Students worked with play dough to make the letter X. After they were done with the letter x, students were to make their name with play dough. This works on their letter knowledge. Center 2: Students were to write/draw in their journals. This works on their small motor, conventional grammar, and handwriting. Center 3: Students were playing Bingo. Students listened for the letter sound and then they had to find that letter or number on their card. We spent some more time outside. Students are using/building their Large Muscles- when they are climbing, running, digging, balancing, and more.

X is our letter of the week! Students danced to the song and then we went on a letter hunt for X. Outside Time: Students loved climbing on the Big Playground. Center 1: Students wrote and drew in their Journals. Center 2: Students made X's out of play dough and then made their name with the play dough. This is working on their letter knowledge and their small motor. Center 3: Students played BINGO- They had to put an X on the correct letter or number square. We are working on our listening skills, number skills, and letter skills. Free Choice: The block area had some new pictures on the wall to inspire the students to build BIG designs. It was finally a beautiful day to go outside with NO coats! The students did a lot of Large Motor Movements.
Center 1: Students were putting rubber bands on muffin tins. This is working on their small motor skills. Center 2: Students played a number game. Students rolled the dice and whatever number they received they had to use the pinchers to put the correct number of beads in their cup. Center 3: Students wrote the letter W and their name in shaving cream. Free Choice: Students explore the different centers at this time. Ask your child were they went. Gym Time: Students could play with basketballs or hola hoops. Some friends wanted to play Duck, Duck, Goose.
Students went on a germ hunt this morning! Commons Area: Students played with small balls, cones, and pompoms. Mrs. Brenda did a science experiment with the students. She put lotion on their hands and then the germs (glitter) but the germs did not come off with just rubbing. Ask your child what they used to get the germs off. Center 1: Students worked on their Small Motor Skills by stretching the rubber bands over the muffin tin. Center 2: Students sorted beads by color with pinchers. Center 3: Students made the letter W in play dough. Art: Students painted an Easter Scene. Free Choice Time: Students were pretending to be doctors, builders, and more.
Morning Meeting: Students were hunting for germs all over the building! Chapel: Mr. Hansen lead Chapel. Reese took our offering upfront and Hudson received a baptismal necklace. Mrs. Brenda had students do a germ experiment. We first put lotion on our hands and then Mrs. Brenda put on the germs (Glitter). If we touched a friend then the germs would spread! The only way to kill the germs would be to scrub with soap and warm water. Center 1: Students were to write the letter W and then their name in Cinnamon. Center 2: Students were to count the people on the bus and then put a bead on the correct number. Center 3: Students sorted colored beads with pinchers. Mrs. Brenda told us why doctors and nurses wear what they wear. Free Choice: Students loved to play Doctor and Nurse with Mrs. Brenda. Art: Students painted an Easter Scene with different colors of paint. Gym Time: Students played with big colorful balls and hola hoops.
It was too rainy to go outside so students ran in the commons. Celebration of Drew's Life: Preschool friends rang the bells for Drew. They did the song Jesus loves Me. After ringing the bells and singing, students then blew bubbles up to heaven for Drew. Who let the letters out? Students worked on their letter knowledge- with the name and the sound of the letter. Free Choice: Students got to choose anywhere in the room to explore! Even Mrs. Brenda went to the restaurant for some food. Music: Students drew to the sound of music. If they heard a fast tempo they would draw fast. If they heard a slow tempo then they would draw slowly. Students did a workout video and followed directions to the Tooty Ta. Mrs. Brenda read us a story before we went to lunch. It was about a hungry fox. Ask your child what happened to the pig.
Morning Meeting: We watched a video on how a man built this huge thing out of dominoes and then used a ball to knock them all down. Some students tried this at Free Choice Time. Jesus Time: Jesus died on the cross- We are making a cross to remind us that Jesus died for our sins. Outside Time: Students used their Large Motor Skills on the playground. Center 1: Students used their small motor skills by putting rubber bands over the muffin tins. Center 2: Students rolled the dice and put that many beads in their cup. At the end, we compared to see who had the largest amount. Center 3: Students made the letter W out of play dough. Free Choice: Ask your child where they explored at this time. Music: Students listened to different tempos in music. If there was a fast tempo- students would color fast and if the students heard a slow tempo then they were to color slowly. Gym Time: Students used their large motor at this time.
We made Thank You cards for our customers that came to our restaurant. After making the cards, we then delivered them. Outside Time: Students had a busy time on the playground. So many things to climb on! Students picked up 10 pieces of the tire and put it back on the playground. Whole Group: As a whole group, we played the positional word game. I rolled the dice and they had to place the crayon where it was suppose to go. Center 1: Students wrote their job in their journals and drew what they were in the restaurant. Center 2: Student had to problem solve-- I had them thinking this morning. Students had to have the same number of snowflake blocks. The students then had to figure what they were going to do with the leftover blocks. Free Choice: Students explored throughout the room but the most popular spots were the SmartBoard and Dominoes. At Lunch, we watched our Lady Bobcats win in dramatic fashion 27-25 after taking first lead with 12 seconds left in game.
Morning Meeting: Moving to the beat of the letter N song. Outside Time: Students played with friends and dug for worms. I asked them if they wanted to fry some worms...but no one wanted to. Name Tags are on and the tables are set. Now we wait for customers. Dancing and getting the wiggles out before our customers come. Love Pizza is open for business! Talk to your child about their job. Check out our hallway for more pictures and information. The workers had to take a break! They worked so hard...We have been practicing for 2 days. I am so proud.
Students love to climb and go down the slide on the Big Playground. The Full Day Preschoolers practiced playing the bells. We are going to perform next Tuesday for the Celebration of Drew's Life. Love Pizza is open for business. This morning, students got the classroom ready for customers. We put our name tags on and practiced what workers do and how they act. We had 3 customers eat at our restaurant. Ask your child what their job was. Mr. Debrick was our first customer. Our hostess gave him a menu and a seat. Our waitresses took his order. The chefs cooked the food. After Mr. Debrick was done eating, the busboy and dishwasher cleaned up. We also had a musician that played music and two managers that made sure everything was going alright. We received a call from Mrs. Kuhlmann, she wanted the Cheese Pizza to be delivered! Good thing that this restaurant delivers. Miss Buerges was our last customer. She loved the service and the food. Thanks for coming Miss Buerges!
