Some friends had an extra job this morning. They were to make the Months of the Year and color them. Some students sounded out the letters and other students copied down my letters.
LETTER E: Students loved dancing to this song! Have your child find the letter E around your house.
Earthquake Drill: Students crawled under the table, we waited for the shaking to stop and then we counted to 30. After 30 seconds, we walked onto the soccer field. The students were so brave during this time!
Outside Time: This is a great time of the day to get some wiggles out, explore, work with a friend, and more.
Reading with a Buddy/Buddies: Miss Bevirt came over with her 3rd grade class to read to us. Students were paired up and listened to a story. All of the students loved working together. The 3rd grade worked on their reading skills while the Preschool students worked on listening skills and comprehension skills.
Center 1: Students made the letter E with play dough. This is working on their small motor skills and alphabet knowledge.
Center 2: Students worked together in the block area as our independent group.
Center 3: Students rolled out play dough and made the number 1 and 2. This is working on their small motor skills and connecting numerals with their quantities.
Free Choice Time: Some of the students wanted to make a "better" garage for our fire trucks. So we voted on a name for the garage. With 6 votes, the garage is called, "Fire Truck Garage." Students then wanted to repair their fire engines because they were falling apart. Students also wanted to make a pole for the firemen. There was a lot of collaboration and teamwork that went on, at this time.
Free Choice: Students played Firemen, drew on the smartboard, colored, and more. Mackenzie was our Photographer for the day. She took a lot of the pictures at this time.
Standards: Engages in Sociodramtic Play. Technology in the classroom.
