Before Morning Meeting: Students worked together to build a floor puzzle. Chapel: Student Council lead our chapel. They put on a great play about everyone being special! There was a lot of large motor movements outside on the Playground. Students had Free Choice in another classroom. Ask your child what they did. Center 1: Students wrote/drew in their journals. Center 2: Students took turns rolling the dice and then putting the crayon where Miss Lindsay told them. They are working on Positional words. Center 3: Students wrote the letter N with markers and created name tags for their job in the restaurant.

Students watched a video on how we can handle our emotions. After the video, we practiced what we should do when we are upset! Ask your child how we are going to solve this problem. Special Delivery: Students delivered their invitation to Mr. Debrick and Mr. Marolf...Our restaurant is now Open for business. Jesus Time: Mary put perfume on Jesus's feet to show her love...Students colored a coloring page about our lesson. Outside Time: Students played on the Big Playground today. It strengthens their Large Motor Skills- balancing, climbing, running, jumping, and more. Center 1: Students had a crayon and once they rolled the dice it told them where to position the crayon. We are working on Positional words. Center 2: Students wrote the letter N in Flour. Students wrote/drew in their journal. Students made Name Tags for Wednesday and Thursday. We are having customers come and eat so we need to be ready :) Students loved to explore during Free Choice. Students worked together to play a letter game on the SmartBoard, colored, built a train set in Block Area, and feed a lot of Dogs in Dramatic Play. It was a beautiful day to go outside. Students played in the Rock Pit, dug for worms, and climbed the monkey bars. Students were strengthening their large motor skills.
Jesus Time: Students acted out our story. We have the two disciples and Jesus looking for a donkey. The loud crowd waving palm branches (Pipe cleaners). They were so excited to see Jesus. Jesus is Here!!! Gym Time! We gave Mrs. Kulhmann an invitation to come and eat at our restaurant! Center 1: Students drew/wrote in the journals about their Grandparents. Center 2: Students painted the letter M and something that started with the letter M.
Today, was Grandparent's Day. The students were so excited to spend the day with their grandparents/ special friend. We walked over to the Chapel and worshipped God. Then, we had snack. After snack, students and grandparents could find an activity to do, look at the book fair, and get their picture taken by a photographer. Science Experiment: We are watching to see what will happen to the egg when we put it in vinegar. Outside Time: Students watched the geese, played on the equipment, and chased friends. Center 1: Students wrote on invitations. They wrote the Date, Time, and Place. We are ready to send out the invitations. Center 2: Students wrote the letter M and their name in shaving cream. Center 3: Students worked together to sort the shapes. Free Choice: Students could explore anywhere in the room at this time. Ask your child where they played during free choice. Art Time: Students designed their own restaurant. We voted today! Students voted on whether they would like to go outside or play in the gym! Outside won. We didn't even wear coats. :)

It was too rainy to go outside so we went to the Commons Area. Students played with silly birds and balls. Center 1: Students worked with a partner to match rhyming words. Center 2: Students designed invitations for some customers to try out our restaurant. Center 3: Students wrote the letter M in Cinnamon. After they wrote the letter M, students tried to write their ABC's as far as they could go. Free Choice: This is when students can go where they would like to explore. A popular center was the SmartBoard. Students followed the patterns to get them out of the maze. Students explored other areas around the room. Ask your children what they explored. We went on a Bear Hunt!
I read the book We're Going on a Lion Hunt by Margery Cuyler. After reading the book, we followed along to a video called Going on a Bear Hunt by Dr. Jean. Show and Share: Today, Graham brought in Show and Share. He had some great clues for his friends. Ask your child what Graham brought to school. * It is the right color too! Show and Share: Zoey gave her friends 3 clues on what her special item was. Ask your child what was in the bag. During Jesus Time, students acted out the Zacchaeus story. Olivia was Zacchaeus, Graham was Jesus, and the other students were the angry crowd. Ask your child about the Bible story and the song that we sang! The students got to play outside on the BIG playground. This works their large motor skills- climbing, balancing, and running. During Art, students were coloring like Michelangelo. Students learned that Michelangelo painted the ceilings of the Sistine Chapel. A fun fact, Michelangelo stood the whole time while painting. During Free Choice, student not only explore what they are interested in but work on group situations--such as problem solving,sharing, and being patient. Students had a lot of energy! They ran and chased their friends during gym.
Running works on their large motor skills---running, walking, skipping, and more. Morning Meeting: We read our Bible Story about Zacchaeus. He was so short that he had to climb up a tree to see Jesus. Our Bible Words, are from 1 Timothy, " Jesus came...to save sinners." For our science experiment, we predicted what would happen when we would put water in with Skittles. Ask your students what happened to the Skittles. Commons Area: Students played with silly puppets. Before lunch, we even went outside!!! Field Trip: We are continuing to learn more about restaurants. We toured the lunch room and drew what we saw. Pam (Chef) told us what items were and what they were used for. At the end of out tour, she even gave us some cookies.
Today, Makena had the Show and Share bag. She had great clues for her friends :) Ask your child what Makena brought. Science Experiment: We made a hypothesis on what would happen to the skittles when we put them in water. The second pictures shows their discovery. Students played with silly animals and funny puppets. Phase 2: Students toured the kitchen at Zion. Students drew what they saw and asked Pam (Lunch Lady) their questions about the kitchen. Students wrote Pam Thank You cards.
